<br />
She loves it and wore it right away! Success!<br />
<br />
It is a modified version of the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/purl-ridge-scarf">Purl Ridge Scarf</a> from Stephen West. It is knitted with yarn from the <a href="https://www.alpagaspetitecote.com/">Alpagas de la Petite Côte</a>.<br />
<br />
The scarf rolled quite a bit while I was knitting it but after blocking it, it is all resolved. Good news!<br />

<br />
I can't believe that my last post was in April. Time flies. And this is going to be a short post since I want to continue putting my FOs here but at the same time, I prefer knitting to writing long posts :)<br />
<br />
So, last summer, I've decided to knit a sweater to my daughter who definitely enjoy knitted garments. But this one, not so much unfortunately. I don't know why. She was really happy the whole time I've knitted it for her and when it was completed, she didn't want to wear it. Maybe this year, who knows!<br />
<br />
Here it is. It was a nice and quick knit. I loved the color. I've based it on the pattern <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fond-of-you">Fond of You</a>. However, since the yarn is already quite textured, I've knitted it in stockinette and also, my daughter insisted that it should have short sleeves.<br />
<br />
Here it is:<br />

<br />
Spring has finally arrived in the Montreal area. It is about time! Summer is my favorite season.<br />
<br />
This winter, I have finished my <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-house-slippers">Simple House Slippers</a>. They are knitted with some gorgeous red Icelandic wool. A good high school friend thought about me during her trip in Iceland. When she visited me after many years of not seeing each other, she gave it to me. It was a lovely surprise!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizfQmZXESiNDc2p3k_TOVulO2XiFIl13dYJXKap9an69ysM181P0QCfZKKdHiEE93Dmy3gkdN0NXvHzVr0c5ER9JtDH5l4IX9z2pzMVY0TWLPjPXIpzbi1AIOeIfgQSkkjEdamoQqLuy4/s1600/20180422_111134.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizfQmZXESiNDc2p3k_TOVulO2XiFIl13dYJXKap9an69ysM181P0QCfZKKdHiEE93Dmy3gkdN0NXvHzVr0c5ER9JtDH5l4IX9z2pzMVY0TWLPjPXIpzbi1AIOeIfgQSkkjEdamoQqLuy4/s320/20180422_111134.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9vAn-uiqzEfk9QgCr0vW8WF14O3PcaoSKoLsSZS8paBjbtdSxo3uaEuhUO3KtajMhr3D4V6G_nXDEN2LxVymO2WhkIyRxxtaQdUtLUJxUYcM-7oaThgG3zj5nK8Sl4d9s1MRrZfflvDY/s1600/20180422_111108.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9vAn-uiqzEfk9QgCr0vW8WF14O3PcaoSKoLsSZS8paBjbtdSxo3uaEuhUO3KtajMhr3D4V6G_nXDEN2LxVymO2WhkIyRxxtaQdUtLUJxUYcM-7oaThgG3zj5nK8Sl4d9s1MRrZfflvDY/s320/20180422_111108.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I don't know if I will wear them much. I will most likely keep them for when visitors come.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
See <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/simple-house-slippers">my project page on Ravelry</a> for more details.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since then, I have started again this sweater for my daughter. The result was a little tight so I switched to larger needles and it is much better. It is based on the pattern <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fond-of-you">Fond of you</a> but it will be quite different in the end as I am not making the stripes, nor the stitch pattern and my daughter says that if it a summer sweater, it has to have short sleeves. So, be it :) If all goes well, it should be ready for the summer as it is mindless knitting and no sleeves! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitOcSSefvLFK2dLqpXCz6QCGGkJ-67_KDAqJ3nB-7BRW34QPCSmShmJOZPUWnqpFMPi5B_aRWoqMCAja7WnU1y76uWWoe5pTNpnEkbekpXemO2D_a00k2Myl0JfwHOcOyOfcqXliS416o/s1600/20180421_151129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitOcSSefvLFK2dLqpXCz6QCGGkJ-67_KDAqJ3nB-7BRW34QPCSmShmJOZPUWnqpFMPi5B_aRWoqMCAja7WnU1y76uWWoe5pTNpnEkbekpXemO2D_a00k2Myl0JfwHOcOyOfcqXliS416o/s320/20180421_151129.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What are your summer projects? I'm thinking of casting on a <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cadence-4">Cadence</a> to use some yarn my mom gave me. It would be for the next winter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I wish you all a lovely Sunday and week!</div>

Friendship is one of the best thing in life. When you add knitting to it, it just can get better :) Yesterday, a group of us met for a brunch and a cowl exchange. It's been the most pleasant encounter (as always)! And to make it even better, I think that a new tradition is born: make an exchange of a knitting item every Valentine's Day. Doesn't it sound like a good plan?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here we are (and our group is even bigger), all smiles, with our new cowls. Each one being perfect for each one:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is the vibrant and cozy cowl I received:</div>

The pattern is <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/getting-warmer">Getting Warmer</a> by <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/designers/espace-tricot">Espace Tricot</a>. A pattern that I was considering knitting myself :) Thanks Michèle!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This one is <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/miras-cowl">Mira's Cowl</a> by <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/designers/mira-cole">Mira Cole</a>. It is a pattern that is very nice to knit and simple. This is what I need to knit right now. It was very relaxing. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Of course, for this exchange, I wanted to knit from my stash. I chose the beautiful <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/tanis-fiber-arts-red-label-cash-silk-single">Red Label Cash Silk Single by Tanis Fiber</a> Arts in the Smoke colorway (not currently available) that I had since 2012. However, I've decided to knit it doubled with some incredibly soft <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/shibui-knits-silk-cloud">Shibui Knits Silk Cloud</a>. It is a very good combination and makes for a very interesting result (soft, soft, soft... and still so light). However, for some reason, we miscalculated the amount needed and I bought two skeins of Silk Cloud which means one of the two is now in my stash (unused) and my stash is still the same as before! Does it also happen to you when you try to knit from your stash?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally, I dared the following while knitting this project. Believe it or not, I've been knitting since 2006 and I have never done this. When I started knitting, I remember reading about this basic technique in books and thought it seemed so complicated and risky. Hmmm, not difficult at all and saves so much time. I'm so glad I tried it...</div>

How are you? I hope you have all had a wonderful summer. I love summer!<br />
<br />
There hasn't been much knitting for me during the nice season, except I did a KAL: Le KAL de l'été (the Summer KAL in French) which was organized by <a href="https://colorista.biz/boutique/en">Colorista</a>. Colorista is a new local hand dyer and she creates colorways that are definitely beautiful. They look so cozy. I knit my daughter's <a href="http://anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/2017/01/fo-peppa-scarf.html">Peppa Scarf</a> last winter with it and I look forward to knit with her yarns again.<br />
<br />
This being said, the KAL was for fun and we didn't need to use Colorista yarn to participate. So, I used some yarn that I had in my stash. I really want to empty my stash, if that is possible, and never buy again any yarn that I am not going to knit right away. That's me! I think it is possible, as you can see...<br />
<br />
And the pattern I chose has been in my queue for years. It is <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/multnomah">Multnomah</a>. It is a very easy pattern to follow. I haven't made any mods, except I knitted it with light fingering with the exact gauge. I also chose this pattern because it is a very small shawl (the project for the KAL needed to be a shawl) and honestly, I was not sure that I could knit a shawl in two months (July and August). So, it was realistic and I made it. I was glad that I was on vacation at the end of August though :)<br />
<br />
So enough said, here are some pictures...<br />

Hello! How are you? How is your spring so far? Mine is not bad at all as I am always excited when summer is just around the corner. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But before that, I'll just mention my last knit of the winter. As soon as I've finished my Not Resisting Hat with stash and leftover yarn (and still had leftovers), I've casted on for a mini version for my daughter. It was a fast knit! I've measured her head and adapted the pattern accordingly. When she tried it on, it was fitting perfectly! And look at that smile!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, for a few days, there was nothing on the needles. On Sunday, I casted on for the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-house-slippers">Simple House Slippers</a>. The idea came from the very inspirational podcast by Espace Tricot. They have such lovely samples and they are based in Montreal. Every time I went to their store, I've loved it. They are very good at giving advices and the store is just beautiful with a great variety of yarns! </div>

We will see how many pairs can be made with one skein!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then, for Easter, we went to visit my parents and my mom showed me some yarn that she has and will not use. I chose the following. Here is what I plan to make with each one - maybe I'll change my mind :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggCq4uqIi9bSBkM2hO7BQumQVq_8bcKKVIExPW2G4MHR0ONO6iiOCypaQE5LwnfHErZhlKzt0-mgioGaMKy03pTZ4EYwMPWxfv83BQAIUUy7k380oF2Qv2wS2GyTc7HkUbpM2-dnbsdsg/s1600/IMG_20170426_172439989_HDR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggCq4uqIi9bSBkM2hO7BQumQVq_8bcKKVIExPW2G4MHR0ONO6iiOCypaQE5LwnfHErZhlKzt0-mgioGaMKy03pTZ4EYwMPWxfv83BQAIUUy7k380oF2Qv2wS2GyTc7HkUbpM2-dnbsdsg/s320/IMG_20170426_172439989_HDR.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With these 745 meters of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/phildar-castel-ancienne">Phildar Castel</a> (I believe it is discontinued), I plan to make <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cascade">Cascade</a> in size 4T.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With these 280 meters of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/bergere-de-france-coton-fifty">Coton Fifty</a>, I'd like to knit a little <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/blue-sea-beach">Blue Sea Beach</a> (12 m will be the most likely size with the amount of yarn available). This will be a great baby shower gift!</div>

And finally, with these 560 meters of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/bergere-de-france-ondine">Ondine</a> (also discontinued), I think it would be pretty as a <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fond-of-you">Fond of You</a> in size 6 (if my calculations are good).<br />
<br />
So, this is what I have in mind for the near (or not so near) future. Maybe I will knit them in that order, maybe not!<br />
<br />
How about you?<br />
<br />
Happy knitting?Marysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com1Montréal, QC, Canada45.5016889 -73.56725599999998645.145911899999994 -74.212702999999991 45.8574659 -72.921808999999982tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-3934386217428882302017-03-14T22:39:00.001-04:002017-03-14T22:39:48.308-04:00It's winter!And I who thought that I had finished my hat too late to wear it this winter! Think again! Winter is not over yet!<br />
<br />
But cold ears are gone now that I have knitted my very first tuque for myself! This one I keep!<br />

<br />
You can see <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/resist-hat">my project page on Ravelry</a> for more details. I've modified the pattern to be less slouchy although I haven't knitted the slouchy version. I really like the end result.<br />
<br />
I haven't washed it yet either. I'm always a bit scared that the size is going to change or the colors will be altered.<br />
<br />
I've already made my calculations to knit a mini version for my daughter with the remaining yarn.<br />
<br />
And since there will be more yarn left at the end, I may add some pom-poms...<br />

</div>
Happy New Year! I hope that 2017 is treating you well so far! I'm doing good. It's just that... time flies!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Last December, I've started a scarf for my daughter. I bought the yarn from a new independent dyer who also happen to be a friend in my knitting group. On Facebook, you may follow her as Colorista. The yarn I bought from her is really soft and the colors were amazing! I recommend it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Also, for the first time, I've knitted something without a pattern. I know, a scarf is just a scarf but still, I'm quite proud of myself. I searched for a simple scarf pattern for a baby/toddler on Ravelry and I was not able to find one I liked (maybe there are just too many patterns on Ravelry). Just to know how many stitches to cast on and how long I should make it. So, I've decided to write it down and share with anyone who does like to simply follow a pattern, no matter how simple the knitting is.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have to say I really like it. It is pretty and practical, soft and warm! I named it the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/peppa-scarf">Peppa Scarf</a> if you would like to look for it on Ravelry!</div>

<br />
My first and maybe last FO of 2016. Life is going fast! These socks are made for my sister and I wanted her to have them before the end of the year.<br />
<br />
It started pretty well. In June, I was already turning the heel of the second sock. I'm a perfectionist most of the time and... I wasn't happy with how different the two heels were when side to side. I could only imagine how the toes would end differently too - when I so carefully started the second sock with the same colors as the first one. So I had to tink :) That's fine! I almost love it as much as knitting, knowing that I will be satisfied in the end.<br />

Towards the end of the project, I was no longer able to access the pattern. Fortunately, I had a printed copy from the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/hedgerow-socks">first ones</a> I made. That's too bad because I think it is a great pattern.<br />

<br />
First, I have something to give away. I've always thought that if I reach 50 followers on my blog, I would give a skein of yarn to one of you. Then, I've reached 50 and above but since I almost never update my blog now or write really short posts, it is dropping, hi hi :) So, before it goes under 50, I thought I would hurry up and go ahead :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0B_tkZiwI3h7T1klv6goWPFCtXRdXshaEiOuYMDzfrw5gsWxZOd9Efxhp6LshCvRHvhqR98FbICuEYce33bGcsRqbCWPI0E-Pk0YDMQwsosMRnzAik_B62U2KnjwkwqwJfYaZ66RgKgw/s1600/021_small.jpg" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'd like to give away the extra skein of yarn that I haven't used to knit the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/baby-chalice-blanket">Baby Chalice Blanket</a> (see details on this project page). It is nice to knit with, soft and warm! Would you like to try it? If so, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post before March 4th, 2016 at 23:59 EST! I will draw the winner with a random number generator and post the winner here. In the comment, you could tell me what you would like to knit with it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Also, I wanted to show you my progress on my sister's socks! It is fun to knit. I really like <a href="http://leslainesbiscotte.com/#">Biscotte & Cie</a> self-stripping yarns. The pattern is the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hedgerow-socks-2">Hedgerow Socks</a>. This is the second pair that I knit. I was not sure if the pattern would go well with stripes but I think it actually do!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH5WCKRRwiofoGcXN3XIGkIf9l1wCa-mDQbIE86fttHBij_YXaOZlK3CayRgYvhuGXozyQ0wqL-F5IjciNTw16cSMj9tJ8JMwPx6Sf45_gEV7DJgd9Go3zqYwvDKr7xjx8JaonrcOSlK4/s1600/242.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH5WCKRRwiofoGcXN3XIGkIf9l1wCa-mDQbIE86fttHBij_YXaOZlK3CayRgYvhuGXozyQ0wqL-F5IjciNTw16cSMj9tJ8JMwPx6Sf45_gEV7DJgd9Go3zqYwvDKr7xjx8JaonrcOSlK4/s320/242.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It is a pleasure to knit them. The proof is that they are knitting up pretty quickly. I hope you are also enjoying what you currently have on your needles!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A very good week to all of you!</div>

I will also be donating it to the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/25000tuques/?fref=ts">25 000 Tuques</a> that I talked about in my previous post.</div>

It's the second time I make this pattern because I think it is incredibly cute with the little i-cord at the top! No mods, just fun!<br />
<br />
I wish you all a wonderful week and may winter end soon :)Marysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-55654711138992324602016-01-13T22:38:00.002-05:002016-01-18T22:45:01.198-05:00FO: Aviatrix HatMy first FO of 2016! Will there be more in 2016? We will see... My next objective is to knit my sister the pair of socks that she chose the pattern and yarn for last year. She's been hinting for quite a while that she would like me to knit some socks for her :) I hope she can have them next Christmas!<br />
<br />
I've had the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aviatrix-hat">Aviatrix Hat</a> in my queue for a long time! I finally bought it as I thought my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/manos-del-uruguay-silk-blend">Manos del Uruguay</a> leftover yarn would look nice in it! But then, I realize that it was too small for my daughter. I was getting ready to start it again in a larger size when...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiyaMVBXKt2QBdv2Kl5S1U-0QWojA6tuFPl0d1e0SN0qagQgge3324EqFEssAJE2VslUwIMN9rIGJLh-F5Sh5SozmzoQ-5Zi612-Gn6_J20gUBjwazTDhKjDVod4XnrWSUD7SOr3DI-cg/s1600/333.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiyaMVBXKt2QBdv2Kl5S1U-0QWojA6tuFPl0d1e0SN0qagQgge3324EqFEssAJE2VslUwIMN9rIGJLh-F5Sh5SozmzoQ-5Zi612-Gn6_J20gUBjwazTDhKjDVod4XnrWSUD7SOr3DI-cg/s320/333.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
... I got a few invations on Facebook to join <a href="https://www.facebook.com/#!/25000tuques/?fref=ts">25 000 tuques</a>! A "tuque" is a winter hat in French. This is a super cool project that has gathered a lot of knitters in the province of Quebec (the project was initiated in Montreal) but also everywhere in the world to knit a hat for all the Syrian refugees that have and will arrive in Canada during the awful war that is ravaging their country. In Canada, every newborn is welcomed into the world by receiving a little knitted hat to stay warm. Local knitters provide them to the hospitals. My daughter received one when she was born! All knitters who knit a hat have to attach a personalized message. And it works so well so far that they are talking about continuing it for all people who arrive in Canada! Everyone thinks it is a great and very human gesture! Those people are like you and I. They wish to live in peace and give that gift to their children. I'm sure you can join whereever you come from!<br />
<br />
All of this to say that this hat will go to a little Syrian boy or girl. So touching... And I will give a few other hats I've knitted but kept in a drawer.<br />
<br />
Oh, one funny fact. The Musée McCord in Montreal is hosting some <a href="http://www.mccord-museum.qc.ca/en/activities/25-000-tuques-2/">events</a>. Visitors can see the knitted hats that are deposited at this museum. I've read somewhere that someone said that these hats could not be hand knitted because they were so beautiful :) I thought it was really funny!<br />
<br />
OK, enough about that. You can see my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/aviatrix-hat">project page on Ravelry</a> for more details. Basically, I chose a color very similar to the pattern main picture and did not make any modifications. When you like a pattern, you just like the pattern :) The pattern is well written and it is interesting to see how it turns out.<br />
<br />
Finally, I also finished the Easy Peasy Newborn Sock Hat today but it was too late to take a picture outside. It will be in a separate post!<br />
<br />
Have a lovely end of the week! I hope it is not too cold where you are. Here it is freezing... brrrr! xx<br />

That was before my daughter was born. Lately, I've had a little more time to knit. Not that much more time but maybe I will also have more time to blog!<br />
<br />
I'm not saying this is going to be a long post! I still have to get up early tomorrow morning :)<br />
<br />
So, recently, one of my high school friend visited me. Last year, she went to Iceland and as she knew I love to knit, she bought me a beautiful skein of yarn! I have no idea what it will become - probably a winter accessory - but I really like it. Thank you so much Isabelle (she is not even a knitter and we don't see each other very often either)!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJZsDmNfc7vAP0W6vIFwBx4secA_T2SG_Ff9DdvNPEcEeirz9Kln3MSg1sO99msFV9Qhpg8E2CudvFYH0juIXawVhVUZRsS1zERhOLkrdIFczm4ooD2wantF7z-zGPkdt3bcKT5qRmnAs/s1600/201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJZsDmNfc7vAP0W6vIFwBx4secA_T2SG_Ff9DdvNPEcEeirz9Kln3MSg1sO99msFV9Qhpg8E2CudvFYH0juIXawVhVUZRsS1zERhOLkrdIFczm4ooD2wantF7z-zGPkdt3bcKT5qRmnAs/s320/201.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then, last year, I gave away all my yarn leftovers to a lovely lady in Alberta. I was really relieved because I do not like to keep things that I don't use. In that same order of idea, I also try to knit all my yarn. This is why I started the two following projects:<br />
<br />
1. <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aviatrix-hat">Aviatrix Hat</a> with the leftovers from this <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/farniente-ii">shawlette</a>:<br />

2. <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-peasy-newborn-sock-hat">Easy Peasy Newborn Sock Hat</a> with the leftovers of these recently completed <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/plain-vanilla-socks">socks</a>: <br />

3. I did not cast on for this one yet, but my sister has asked me for a pair of socks for quite a while. The other weekend, we chose the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/biscotte--cie-felix-self-striping">yarn</a> and <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hedgerow-socks-2">pattern</a>. Here is the <a href="http://biscotteyarns.com/collections/bis-sock-yarn-self-striping-hand-dyed-yarns/products/bis-sock-yarn-grease-self-striping-hand-dyed-yarn">colorway</a>:<br />

I can't wait to cast on. I'm debating whether I should finish the two projects above before or at least finish one or knit all three projects at the same time :)<br />
<br />
Well, this is all I have for now... and my bedtime has passed. Sorry for ending this post so abruptly. I hope you understand... Good night :)Marysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-67655832185283255282015-09-17T22:40:00.000-04:002015-09-17T22:40:18.592-04:00FO: Plain Vanilla SocksSummer is still here, in September... I love it!<br />
<br />
And it allowed me to finish these socks and show them before fall comes. These are the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/plain-vanilla-socks">Plain Vanilla Socks</a> in the not so plain <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/stash/search#colorway=+Watermelon&photo=yes&yarn-link=biscotte--cie-felix-self-striping">Watermelon</a> colorway:<br />

Hello everyone! I just wanted to drop by with an FO I finished in February. It has been a while since I posted. Some of you have sent me emails to know how we are doing. Thank you so much! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My little girl has been with the cold most of winter. She's very brave. I've returned to work in early January. Work and the routine keeps me busy. This is great! My sweet little girl makes me so happy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since my bedtime has already passed, I will go directly to the point. Here is the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gespeg">Gespeg</a> hat from <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/designers/ariane-caron-lacoste">Ariane Caron-Lacoste</a>. She has beautiful patterns!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This hat was knit for my friend Mélanie who is the owner of the <a href="http://www.anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/2012/10/les-alpagas-de-la-petite-cote.html">Alpagas de la Petite-Côte</a>. Of course, the hat is knitted with alpaca yarn that they produce. It is such a warm and soft hat. I have enough yarn to knit one for myself for... next winter now!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnFRB0795XzaFWZiO6GEBAO-Lv7JLARhRTjhvmpTCRKLbxsVoqIB6YDKwy5Xuren1VmUR1Fn_s3hl6HPZw807YOv1FYISas6t6h1IraQ7Ud2jUtc1zqP7GDb3aHio9ziDIFq8Ju9NNuUA/s1600/165.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnFRB0795XzaFWZiO6GEBAO-Lv7JLARhRTjhvmpTCRKLbxsVoqIB6YDKwy5Xuren1VmUR1Fn_s3hl6HPZw807YOv1FYISas6t6h1IraQ7Ud2jUtc1zqP7GDb3aHio9ziDIFq8Ju9NNuUA/s1600/165.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was the perfect pattern for someone who does not have as much knitting time as she used to :)</div>

I've been reading your blogs. I do not comment as much as I used to but I certainly enjoy seeing what you are up to and admiring your beautiful pictures.<br />

Have a wonderful end of the week!Marysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-83945905098666953802014-10-20T22:00:00.001-04:002014-10-22T20:31:50.274-04:00FO: Little OakThis morning, I finished the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/little-oak">Little Oak</a> cardigan that I started last January. It's always nice to finish a project, isn't it? <br />
<br />
I had bought the two skeins of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/madelinetosh-tosh-dk">Madelintosh Tosh DK</a> for a <a href="http://www.anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/2013/11/i-could-not-resist.html">scarf</a>. However, following a few rows, I changed my mind (like I always do!) and started to look for something else I could make with this beautiful yarn. I thought about the Little Oak cardigan. <br />
<br />
I thought the colorway Kale was neutral enough because we didn't know whether we were having a boy or a girl. Also, although the gauge was definitely not working for this pattern, I tried the following: made a 6 months for the count of stitches and a 2 years for the lengths. It seems to have worked! Although at some point, I thought I would not have enough yarn (but I have 4 g left!), I now have a 2 years old little cardigan.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZBBYyW4ooR47C32VZFPsmHtrSvIaRhptEbq8kCB6bmuUnZP3pQpJtGWdOS_IMnm8cKGhIdWVHZb-4pIxqX0llGPb_fhIAKb7CKzunxsSqoUv4QXYL99L0tibXqm3YUUODgNEOlTod14c/s1600/280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZBBYyW4ooR47C32VZFPsmHtrSvIaRhptEbq8kCB6bmuUnZP3pQpJtGWdOS_IMnm8cKGhIdWVHZb-4pIxqX0llGPb_fhIAKb7CKzunxsSqoUv4QXYL99L0tibXqm3YUUODgNEOlTod14c/s1600/280.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Don't get me wrong, it is a nice cardigan. However, I would not really recommand two things. First, I would say that you should not use this yarn. It is a little dense. I suppose it will be warmer, but probably not as comfortable as with a lighter weight of yarn. Second, although the pattern itself is shown in a similar color, I think that a lighter color would be best to show the details of the yoke and would also be more suitable for a child. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHkXN8aOnK9tXKXQX6jScTp9jWzaxO-jj-G_i_fWQFVo1iguH2lLNlMB0ULlVyQlYrBT25muYE0OY_XfxwcJBcRM0LuZIIIU6WoV2fmkV-VTr8sayfatLb8bRpcgwIfkXDpBoxnXg0AEE/s1600/282.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHkXN8aOnK9tXKXQX6jScTp9jWzaxO-jj-G_i_fWQFVo1iguH2lLNlMB0ULlVyQlYrBT25muYE0OY_XfxwcJBcRM0LuZIIIU6WoV2fmkV-VTr8sayfatLb8bRpcgwIfkXDpBoxnXg0AEE/s1600/282.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All in all, the pattern is very well written. That, I definitely recommand! I really like it when the instructions are detailed and e.g. you don't need to look up the internet to find how to make a M1R or M1L, etc. Also, it contains the chart and the written instructions for the yoke. Finally, it even has some graphics for the lenghts in each size. Good work, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/designers/alana-dakos">Alana Dakos</a>!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Although it is difficult to see, I really like the yoke!</div>
<br />

I really look forward for my daughter to try it on. Probably next Spring or Fall.<br />

This pattern is part of the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/groups/mysistersknitter-kal-cal">MSK Tackling WIPS KAL/CAL</a>. It is not too late to join it if you have many WIPs! Also, you should definitely visit <a href="http://mysistersknitter.typepad.com/my-blog/">My Sister's Knitter</a> blog regularly! It is one of my favorite!</div>

I'm not knitting much, just a few rows here and there... but I thought I could write a short post to say hi to you all...<br />
<br />
I have two WIPs. First, Plain Vanilla Socks in Biscotte's Felix sock yarn. The colorway is Watermelon! This is the perfect summer knit! I've wanted to knit this colorway for years and indulged a few weeks ago!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Also, I'm knitting the first sleeve of the Little Oak for my daughter. It would be great to finish it soon so that I can start something more "girly" for her :-)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They are going slow. Even when I went to a knit night with my daughter, I was so busy catching up that I did not knit at all! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Have a great weekend everyone! </div>

<br />
Still, I wanted to update my blog and post about a little gift I made while looking after my daughter when she was learning to be on her belly :-)<br />
<br />
It was a rather quick knit for the first baby of one of my knitter friend! It's a boy! I'm glad I could make it - it was sent I think two weeks after he was born! <br />
<br />
It is a little larger than the pattern and shorter too. I thought the vest looked better that way!<br />

<br />
I have about half of the Little Oak knitted. <br />
<br />
I also started some leg warmers for my daughter! I don't really follow a pattern for them. We will see if they fit. If not, it is really easy to start again. Let me know if you know of any well fitting leg warmers for a 9-12 months baby in fingering weight!<br />
<br />
I hope you are all doing well and I'm really glad if you are still reading :-) <br />
<br />
Have a beautiful rest of the week! xxMarysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-31286402761697497102014-03-28T10:20:00.002-04:002014-03-28T10:25:50.060-04:00More..... little FOs and gifts for a sweet girl!<br />
<br />
Before labor, I knitted these with leftover yarn, not knowing if we were going to have a boy or a girl. We had a girl! But the hat is too big (maybe next winter it will fit?) and the socks do not stay on her feet... Oh well, it was fun to knit!<br />

Hello everyone,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In January, I gave birth to the sweetest little girl. What an amazing adventure! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since then, I've only knittted a few rows... so there may not be much to show for a little while.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Still, I would like to show you what we received at the baby shower.</div>

These are the cutest little buttons I have ever seen :) I bought them at <a href="http://www.espacetricot.com/">Espace Tricot</a> for those of you who live in the Montreal area.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is a lovely pattern. It is tiny and quick to knit, although it took me from August to January, I have for an excuse that I knitted the <a href="http://www.anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/2013/12/fo-pine-forest-baby-blanket.html">Pine Forest Baby Blanket</a> at the same time!<br />
<br />
It did not use much yarn either. Not even half a skein of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/julie-asselin-milis">Millis by Julie Asselin</a>. At first, I thought the color was really too bright but in the end, I really like how it turned out (the color below is not as accurate as above):<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_WVffRooLUMWVWXQZTOWBwVmPRdT82EEDmccpANber7iIY1pqbWPntZX6_UsP3Nv4rrH2IvA5ptKx3ylXc-BBKazUuCES4TIev140ZOJUk7Hb4IdNvqWtKZns0XUfyS8rAv_c-Fbtn78/s1600/022.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_WVffRooLUMWVWXQZTOWBwVmPRdT82EEDmccpANber7iIY1pqbWPntZX6_UsP3Nv4rrH2IvA5ptKx3ylXc-BBKazUuCES4TIev140ZOJUk7Hb4IdNvqWtKZns0XUfyS8rAv_c-Fbtn78/s320/022.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFJviZz1uFV7GuS7YDf5YFyptF9lE4SExmhXy__U-OfsXWqh2ZesYGHVvAQmKCZVP9okoS0Tfld6PT3lV8JEYCxUIGfZiah13oZ2PwOjEa9PdoA4gOr8quy2x_B6y4zi2rMjTHUP7jX_I/s1600/021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFJviZz1uFV7GuS7YDf5YFyptF9lE4SExmhXy__U-OfsXWqh2ZesYGHVvAQmKCZVP9okoS0Tfld6PT3lV8JEYCxUIGfZiah13oZ2PwOjEa9PdoA4gOr8quy2x_B6y4zi2rMjTHUP7jX_I/s320/021.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A lot of people knitted this pattern and I would definitely recommend it. <br />
<br />
I did not make any modifications. See my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/anyonecanknit/puerperium-cardigan">project page</a> on Ravelry.<br />
<br />
Now, I'm knitting a little newborn hat and matching socks with leftover yarn. The hat is already blocking and the second sock is on its way!<br />
<br />
Then, I think I will start the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/little-oak">Little Oak Cardigan</a> with the <a href="http://www.anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/2013/11/i-could-not-resist.html">Madelintosh Tosh Merino DK I had bought for a Wheat scarf but changed my mind... again</a>!<br />
<br />
I'm also thinking about what should be my challenge for the Ravellenics. I may knit a pair of socks again. It is still a challenge for me to knit a pair of socks in two weeks and I find it actually satisfying to knit a pair of socks so quickly once every two year! Will you knit something for the Ravellenics?<br />
<br />
Happy New Year 2014 everyone!Marysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-71945460687191077872013-12-21T10:16:00.003-05:002013-12-21T10:16:25.457-05:00FO: Pine Forest Baby BlanketHello everyone! <br />
<br />
I have an FO! The <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pine-forest-baby-blanket">Pine Forest Baby Blanket</a>. What a nice and easy pattern! I love it in the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/tanis-fiber-arts-green-label-aran-weight">Green Label Aran Weight</a> in the colorway Frost. I'm so glad I made the change of yarn although it was a lot of <a href="http://www.anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/2013/10/frog-frog-frog.html">frogging</a>!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7GEav2zMldhkjosRtl3DIe_8uemM3Ec14gTiz5hkB-ySXOa5xsztqoTN1X5QNU3aeSW19GfZjX4CVwHJmCoDaPaCA6hDFJ5kmUkqPTntHWNfFaul8So5xBN70HtUdrOhN7dvhr7HuF5g/s1600/099.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7GEav2zMldhkjosRtl3DIe_8uemM3Ec14gTiz5hkB-ySXOa5xsztqoTN1X5QNU3aeSW19GfZjX4CVwHJmCoDaPaCA6hDFJ5kmUkqPTntHWNfFaul8So5xBN70HtUdrOhN7dvhr7HuF5g/s320/099.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, I'm 100% happy with the result! Yé!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This one is for a very special little baby :) We do not know yet if it is going to be a boy or a girl!<br />
<br />
Then, I've frogged the <a href="http://www.anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/2013/11/i-could-not-resist.html">Wheat</a> scarf too. I guess it could be the hormones! Seriously, I did not like how the ribbed portion sort of distorded the scarf. It was too mindless - if such a thing is possible! In the end, it did not "speak" to me :)<br />
<br />
So, I'm back to my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/puerperium-cardigan">Puerperium</a>. I'm knitting the second sleeve now, so it should be finished in a few days. It's so tiny!<br />
<br />
I don't know if I'll post again before Christmas. If not, I wish you all a very Happy Christmas! Be safe, rest and have fun! You all deserve it! xxxMarysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-7603220584111641372013-11-16T08:25:00.000-05:002013-11-16T10:37:54.962-05:00I could not resist :)Last weekend, I went again to my favorite LYS to get a fourth skein of Tanis for my Pine Forest Baby Blanket and I could not resist the good looking Madelintosh Tosh Merino DK!<br />
<br />
Good thing, it did not even get to my stash. I already started a new a easy project with it: the Wheat scarf!<br />
<br />
I'm now alternating between the two projects. It is difficult to stay committed when you knit two blankets almost in a row. Then, I'm going to alternate with the little Puerperium that I've neglected a little...<br />
<br />
Here is how it looks so far.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFzcVovQmgrqNFG1hAQ0qgD-D-r2eEWhxo1stRdnTvIH1i1tfwoMylYoGDwAqV2EddedvBaUYxoauyKRGniY4psXqseiBuq3CG3wAFGW-6Qk97O_VYghTiesqVVmzT1uVD5of1N2do7vs/s1600/IMG_20131116_103357.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFzcVovQmgrqNFG1hAQ0qgD-D-r2eEWhxo1stRdnTvIH1i1tfwoMylYoGDwAqV2EddedvBaUYxoauyKRGniY4psXqseiBuq3CG3wAFGW-6Qk97O_VYghTiesqVVmzT1uVD5of1N2do7vs/s320/IMG_20131116_103357.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Have a great weekend everyone!Marysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05150165052713846615noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457506885058593150.post-58765916388590724202013-10-05T08:26:00.002-04:002013-10-05T08:26:53.182-04:00Frog, frog, frog...Well, I thought the color of my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pine-forest-baby-blanket">Pine Forest Blanket</a> was too dark for a baby blanket but it turns out that the second skein is even darker! See!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-DoBedXgtzVmYGTaoI4QmmeLSvaujBbXYA-fMjgLTSUy99u9Pu6xfgmno2655w_s2HKyWjS7AFD8pyRqHiXKqDCzQBuetxsEoebBPCoEDYu2cUFspTuL7frVxjwnfloLWeX_HZ7uEz6c/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-DoBedXgtzVmYGTaoI4QmmeLSvaujBbXYA-fMjgLTSUy99u9Pu6xfgmno2655w_s2HKyWjS7AFD8pyRqHiXKqDCzQBuetxsEoebBPCoEDYu2cUFspTuL7frVxjwnfloLWeX_HZ7uEz6c/s320/002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It wasn't exactly a nice surprise... Still, I continued. You know, denying the problem. But I've finally reached a decision. I will not frog and alternate skeins. I will frog it completely and it will become different projects. Why insist on making this blanket in that color if I'm not in love with itT I already have a few ideas for it: <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/felipe">Felipe</a>, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/owl-tuque">Owl Tuque</a> and-or <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/owlet-2">Owlet</a>, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aviatrix-baby-hat">Aviatrix Hat</a>, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gramps-cardigan">Gramps</a>. I'll stop, I only have three skeins ;-)<br />
<br />
So, Thursday night, I had no choice but to go to the lovely <a href="http://www.espacetricot.com/">Espace Tricot</a>. It was once again a very pleasant yarn shopping experience. All the ladies in that boutique de tricot are so nice. I forgot to bring the blanket requirements but they went on Ravelry and showed me a varity of possible yarns are could use: soft enough for a baby and superwash, of course. I opted for this beautiful <span id="goog_872617913"></span><a href="http://www.blogger.com/">Green Label Aran Weight<span id="goog_872617914"></span></a> by <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/brands/tanis-fiber-arts">Tanis Fiber Arts</a>. The colorway is Frost. I so love her yarns!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAVu_3dssI8CjkpH7JY-kSbaQ0HVT8sP1hxVjbw4PscECRevttPINjeMk1Vok7auDYYo9bJKcwgCk8ABdDlAp1JAVAJYwlvvDe2MBmavjc1ANywMJhysaA6pFjzonYfYOGzhfFo9c2Ulw/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAVu_3dssI8CjkpH7JY-kSbaQ0HVT8sP1hxVjbw4PscECRevttPINjeMk1Vok7auDYYo9bJKcwgCk8ABdDlAp1JAVAJYwlvvDe2MBmavjc1ANywMJhysaA6pFjzonYfYOGzhfFo9c2Ulw/s320/005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It is also going to become a Pine Forest Blanket. This is a nice mindless pattern. I think this color is much better suited for a little baby! I hope the transition between the skeins will be okay. We chose them carefully...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is also perfect to lift my spirit this morning because I caught a cold yesterday. I thought I would be fine and went to work yesterday but it worsened last night and now, I think all I will do this weekend is rest and knit.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Have a nice weekend everyone! </div>
